Spinning Stories from the Secret Self contains allusions to past memories which I link into my writing via everyday occurrences to give a portrayal of what living in faith means to me. I cascade these aspects of self into creative offerings for readers to ponder over and reach their own conclusions, thereby offering an opportunity to seek out their own truth.
Blessed are they who walk in God’s light for they shall show Jesus to the world.
After being warned never to speak of secrets, the noise of them clattered and crashed inside my head. I wandered through a wilderness of solitude for years, sifting through my silence, seeking a way to release the sickness within. I listened in that place many times and heard my unspoken thoughts groaning; deeper, deeper, deep into a world of unwritten words. Then, in an unexpected moment, I found You there, waiting to welcome me with love… without condition. You bled out the sins of the world and gave my silence a voice so I could tell others … that it’s okay to share your secrets sometimes.
A Prayer Haiku
Prayer enfolds us and
in its dazzling ray of hope
our hearts fill with joy

Thanks Julie… funny how I bumped into you today. Congrats on the Distinction you achieved for your dance therapy assignment. x
I am glad to have read your work today, Julie. Within your subtitle, “spinning stories from the secret self” you truly capture the difficulty that people feel in including their religious truths. In a world of “everybody’s right” and “everything is true,” people are forced to be so willing to accept others and yet, so afraid of being personally rejected. Keep sharing religious truths; God gave you a unique voice and a unique experience to share.
